Who we are
We are a family of four living on a little homestead along a creek in a beautiful mountain valley in western Montana. Our family consists of me (“Mama”), my husband (“Papa”), our seven year old daughter (Big Sister) and two year old son (Little Brother). We are blessed to have my mom (“Grandma”) live in a little cottage next to us on our homestead and she joins in our homeschooling adventures whenever she can!
Our homeschooling style
We started homeschooling Big Sister when she was preschool aged so we’ve been homeschooling for four years. We believe in nurturing creativity in our children and encourage free play every day to let their imaginations run wild and flourish.
We spend our days reading, exploring nature, and creating nature inspired arts and crafts. I love to create unit studies and seasonal themes for our family’s learning adventures.
My educational background
I have a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Social Work. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Montana and own my own small business.
I am a Certified Master Naturalist and volunteer with several non-profit organizations. I assist with connecting children and adults to our natural world through nature themed educational programs.
